Measurement Supervisor

What We Are Looking ForProvide supervision, leadership, and technical support for Measurement TechniciansWhat You Will DoProvide technical and supervisory leadership to area measurement technicians and facilities to ensure the safe, accurate and efficient operations of all equipment and systems.Responsible for safety programs, environmental protection programs, governmental compliance, employee training and development, budgets, technical support, gas balancing and personnel functions within the measurement area of responsibilityMonitor and minimize lost and unaccounted (L&U) gasAssess measurement facility and technician performanceAssist with the development and management of operating and capital budgetsAssist with the development and implementation of regional measurement programs and projectsAssist with “after hour” issues due to equipment and/or operational problems as neededEvaluate new technology and equipment in the gas measurement industryOther duties as assignedWhat You NeedEducation:Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited school preferred or a successful combination of work experience and education that meets the established minimum hiring standards.Required Qualifications:Experience / specific knowledge:Minimum of ten years’ experience in the field of natural gas measurementAdequate computer skills (MS operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, measurement software, etc.)Adequate knowledge of current AGA and GPA standards and guidelinesAdequate knowledge and understanding of orifice meters, turbine meters, PD meters, rotary meters, ultrasonic meters, and gas chromatographyUnderstanding of design, construction, and troubleshooting of meter stations.Occupational hazards and required safety precaution related assigned duties.Certifications, licenses, registrations:Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirementsMay be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulationsMay be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job dutiesCompetencies, skills, and abilities:Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies during and after regular business hours including after dark hours, which require carrying a communication deviceLeadership and strong personnel management skillsAbility to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimum supervisionMath skills necessary to perform budgeting and engineering calculationsMust be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutionsSafe work practice and active participation in the safety programGood communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)Proven ability to work in a team environmentAbility to prepare and make presentationsAbility to train and develop othersAbility to actively support the region's safety programAbility to work in all environmental conditionsMust be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow rulesWorking Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
