Summary IT Specialist (OS/SYSADM) Open Systems Storage Engineer positions are being filled through the Office of Personnel Management's delegated Direct Hire Authority and are open to all U.S. citizens. Experience must be IT related and may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (e.g., IT certification). The resume must provide sufficient experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and proficiency to perform the specific duties of the position. To qualify for the 2210 IT Specialist series, applicants must demonstrate the following competencies: Attention to Detail – thoroughness and conscientiousness when performing work. Customer Service – works with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and ensures quality service. Oral Communication – effectively expresses information, makes clear presentations, listens, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving – identifies problems, evaluates alternatives, and makes recommendations. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS‑13 level (or equivalent) in work that involves managing the implementation of Open Systems storage infrastructure, advanced Open Systems data storage administration, Open Systems storage maintenance, and Open Systems storage operations. This experience must be explicitly documented elsewhere in the resume; otherwise the applicant will be disqualified from further consideration.
