Food & Beverage Coordinator

The City of Kingman is seeking an experienced food and beverage professional with strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills who can build a positive team culture, provide exceptional service, and effectively manage multiple priorities. If you have the ability to oversee daily bar and restaurant operations, develop and implement strategies to achieve business goals and enhance the guest experience, this position may be for you.

About You:

Under general supervision, you will plan, manage, and oversee the daily operation of the bar and restaurant operations at the golf course. You will be responsible for creating and implementing a plan to achieve annual food and beverage business goals and identifying opportunities to maximize sales; developing, administering, and monitoring the budget; overseeing the selection, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of staff and part-time food and beverage workers. You will work under the general supervision of the Golf Professional and the indirect supervision of the Assistant Golf Professional & Golf Course Superintendent.

What You'll Need To Be Successful In This Role:

Education and Experience:

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
• Minimum of 19 years of age or older.
• Two or more years' experience in supervising bar and restaurant activities.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of the game of golf to assist with customer inquiries and golf events and activities.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics; Recordkeeping and reporting practices, data collection and filing systems.
• Effective oral and written communication methods.
• Sports merchandising, sports fashion trends and golf equipment trends.
• Effective task delegation; Supervision, motivation and development of employees.
• Work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with assigned area of work.
• City and department procedures, policies and guidelines; Federal and State safety rules and regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws, regulations and standards; Injury prevention, and proper procedures to follow after an employee injury/accident.
• Personal computers and software (word processing, spreadsheets, project and scheduling, and other departmental software and database uses, etc.).
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding liquor service, food preparation health and safety regulations.
• Operation of golf carts and related equipment.
• Understand and follow directions given by supervisor; Learn and understand restaurant and bar laws, rules and regulations.
• Adapt to changing work priorities.

Special Requirements:

• Possess a valid Arizona state driver's license or ability to obtain one upon hire.
• Required to possess and maintain current bartender license or alcohol sell/server permit as provided through the Basic: Title 4 Alcohol Certification for Individuals certification as approved by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control. Must receive certification within 30 days of hire to the position.
• Required to possess and maintain current food manager's certification as provided through Mohave County Public Health, Environment Health Division, ANSI-accredited food manager certificate/card or a current food manager card issued by Mohave County within Arizona. Must receive certification within 30 days of hire to the position.

What You'll Do For The City Of Kingman:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greets guests, provide prompt, courteous and friendly customer services.
• Responsible for creating and implementing a plan to achieve annual food and beverage goal and identifying opportunities to maximize sales.
• Takes guest food and beverage orders, cook and serve food, and mix and serve drinks as required. Responsible for accurate collection of payment of sales and processing through point of sale system.
• Works with the Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professional to develop menu and budgets for food, beverages and supplies; manage and maintains inventory. Works with Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professional in identifying vendors for product quality and proper pricing, making purchases of food, beverage, supplies and equipment.
• Assists in marketing and promoting bar and restaurant; recommends changes to improve the functions and processes.
• Effectively and safely utilizes cooking and cutting utensils and tools, cookware, grills, fryers and other kitchen related equipment. Manages equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Actively enforces compliance with all food and beverage regulations set by Mohave County Health Department and Arizona Department of Liquor and License Control, and other federal, state and local regulations for proper food and beverage temperature, storage, handling and serving alcoholic beverages.
• Utilizes proper procedures in serving alcoholic beverages (verify legal drinking age and/or discontinuing service to intoxicated customers).
• Ensures established cash handling procedures are followed. Accurately reconciles cash register sales with daily sales reports; prepares accounting reports for receipts and deposits as directed. Develops operational and financial data, and creates reports for Golf Professional.
• Maintains neat and orderly work area. Performs regular, daily maintenance and cleaning of the inside and outside of restaurant and bar area, as well as, equipment and utensils used in food preparation and delivery. Assures that bar and restaurant facilities are clean, safe, secure and aesthetically pleasing.
• With the Golf Professional participate in selection of bar and restaurant staff and developing staff schedules. Maintains harmonious staff relations; promotes a positive work environment and enforces policies and procedures. Trains; develops and delegates work assignments.
• Follows procedures for proper opening and closing of bar and restaurant.
• Maintains positive professional and effective working relationships by providing exceptional customer service.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.
• May be required to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies and procedures; follows safety policies and practices, works in a safe manner, and reports unsafe activity and conditions.

Peripheral Duties:

• May operate golf cart on premises.
• Performs related and special assignments as required.
