About Step With Purpose

Step With Purpose (SWP) is a High 4-Star early childhood program serving children and families for

more than 20 years. We are seeking an exceptional educator to lead our new Universal Preschool

classroom.

1. NJ P-3 Standard Certificate
2. NJ P-3 CEAS
3. NJ P-3 CE
4. Bachelor's Degree and eligible to pursue NJ P-3 certification

• Plan and implement daily lessons using Creative Curriculum .
• Utilize Teaching Strategies GOLD and ongoing assessments to guide instruction.
• Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support school readiness.
• Develop weekly lesson plans aligned with NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.
• Incorporate literacy, math, science, social studies, social-emotional learning, music, movement, and art into daily instruction.
• Conduct small-group and whole-group instruction based on children's developmental needs.
• Implement Mighty Minutes, Intentional Teaching Cards, and Creative Curriculum studies.
• Differentiate instruction to support all learners.

• Observe, document, and assess children's progress regularly.
• Maintain accurate child portfolios and assessment records.
• Complete developmental screenings and progress reports.
• Support kindergarten readiness skills including literacy, math, self-regulation, and independence.
• Collaborate with specialists and support staff when needed.

• Maintain a welcoming, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Create and manage interest areas/learning centers according to Creative Curriculum guidelines.
• Ensure classroom materials are accessible, labeled, and developmentally appropriate.
• Maintain classroom displays that reflect children's learning and growth.

• Build positive relationships with families.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences and family meetings.
• Communicate regularly regarding children's progress and classroom activities.
• Participate in family engagement events and UPK activities.

• Maintain all required documentation for NJDOE and Gloucester Township UPK.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, health, safety, and program regulations.
• Complete attendance, assessments, lesson plans, and required reports on time.
• Participate in classroom observations and quality improvement initiatives.

• Work collaboratively with assistant teachers, family workers, administration, and support staff.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development trainings, and coaching sessions.
• Mentor and support assistant teachers within the classroom.
• Maintain professionalism and positive communication at all times.

• New Jersey P-3 Certification (or eligibility).
• Experience teaching preschool-aged children.
• Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience implementing Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Previous UPK experience.
• Experience working with diverse learners.
• Knowledge of NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.
• Experience with family engagement and community partnerships.

A successful teacher at Step With Purpose:

• Knows Creative Curriculum inside and out and can confidently implement studies, assessments, interest areas, and lesson plans.
• Creates a classroom where children are actively engaged and learning through play.
• Builds strong partnerships with families.
• Maintains accurate documentation and assessment records.
• Supports every child with patience, compassion, and high expectations.
• Helps children develop the academic, social-emotional, and self-regulation skills needed for kindergarten success.
