LPN - Med/Surg - R8

Overview Sign On Bonus $2500 (2yr Commitment) (LPN >1yr) When unit is full, LPN will work with RNs with highest acuity or will be paired with an RN who has a heavy patient load. When the UNL has patients, the LPN will be paired with the UNL to assist with the UNL patient load. LPN tasks may include oral meds, IV piggyback meds, trach care, dressing changes, documentation on assessments and care plans after the RN has completed the first assessment and initiated the care plan. Qualifications Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) Education: College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required) Work Experience: Responsibilities Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds. Charts assessments on assigned patients as required by RN initial assessment and care plans. Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate patient care. Completes dressing changes and trach care as needed. Insert and cares for NG tube and feedings, care for and change ostomy. Reinforces education and discharge instructions. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $25.73 per hour – $41.87 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health.
