Apply now and become a part of our exciting journey!Job Summary:Our Payroll Specialist will work with a team to process multi state full cycle payroll processing for 500 weekly employees plus 400 biweekly employees and completed Certified Payroll Reports in a variety of platforms (federal form, DIR, LCP tracker, etc.) and handles payroll related issues.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Work closely with leadership at multiple locations to deliver excellent customer service related to the entire payroll processCoordinate with database administrators, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee dataAnswer and resolve all payroll related issues timely, escalate issues as necessaryAbility to review, monitor, and calculate wages, tax deductions, overtime, etc. based on state and federal laws and regulationsEnsure proper coding on all earning and deductions by labor allocations for accountingProcess and monitor garnishment ordersMaintain and document all transactions with processing payrollGather and process data from other databases into HRISAccurately enter and document changes as needed to ensure precise and timely payroll processingEnsure company is set up for all states necessary for employee/employer/unemployment taxingAbility to balance payroll against other databases/reportsConduct payroll compliance checks ensuring employees are paid accurately and per Federal and State regulationsComplete Certified Payroll Reports for assigned Prevailing Wage JobsContinually upgrade knowledge and skill base related to the systems, processes, and requirements to maintain capabilities at the highest possible levelKeep current with Federal and State tax changes as they occurEnsures that payroll related transactions follow external and internal policiesPrepare, generate, and manage weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, and ad hoc reports as necessaryAssist with special projects as neededThis position may require travel to RailPros headquarters, field offices or client offices, work sites and other project related locationsContribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational valuesUphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactionsAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulationOther duties as assigned or required to meet the business needsKnowledge Skills and Abilities:Applying logical thought processes and organizing resources in order to solve issues and meet commitmentsMaking decisions and seizing opportunities in the context of BA business objectivesPartnering effectively with others in order to achieve resultsSatisfying internal and external customer expectations and developing customer partnershipsProficiency with electronic communications including email and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)Working knowledge of MS office software; MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and OfficeRequired Education and Experience:Associate’s degree with 2 years’ experience while using a full service payroll processing system (Paycom, etc.) or equivalent experienceMulti state payroll processing experience requiredHigh level of integrityStrong attention to accuracy and detailStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational planning and time management skillsAbility to protect confidential informationAbility to perform in a fast paced and flexible environmentWorking knowledge of MS office software Excel, PowerPoint, WordCustomer service focusedStrong analytical skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalHigh level of initiative and professionalismAdditional Preferred Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:Certified Payroll Professional CertificationWhy RailPros?
