Position Summary The Speech Language Pathologist, CFY evaluates and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders, supporting patient recovery and communication improvement. Essential Functions Assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities. Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs. Provide education to patients and families regarding therapy goals. Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately. Collaborate with healthcare teams on care coordination. Perform other duties as assigned. Strong communication skills and clinical judgment required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or a similarly titled area acceptable to the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support/CPR Card. Possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY). Licenses: License or eligible for licensure in state. Physical and Mental Demands The position requires occasional standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching or crawling, and using voice or hearing. The employee may need to lift and move up to 20 pounds and may be required to work with computers for extended use. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment and Travel Requirements The work environment is a well‑lit, ventilated and climate‑controlled office setting with routine office equipment. In a hospital setting, the employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials requiring safety precautions and protective equipment.
