Assistant Team Leader

The Opportunity DeVry Greenhouses is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to join our production team and support day‑to‑day operations at our Michigan, Holland greenhouse location. This is a hands‑on role that assists with coordinating daily production activities, supporting team members on the floor, and helping ensure greenhouse tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized in a fast‑paced environment, and leading by example. The Assistant Team Leader will work closely with the Team Leader and Grower to help keep daily operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Assist the Team Leader in overseeing daily tasks within the growing facility. Lead small teams to complete urgent jobs and production tasks. Support the Team Leader in planning and organizing the week. Work closely with the Grower to ensure tasks are completed on time and efficiently. Help coordinate team members on the floor and support smooth daily workflow. Plan, lead, organize, and control daily activities as needed. Support other areas or locations when help is needed. Promote a safe, respectful, and productive work environment. Lead by example and help maintain high standards for quality and efficiency. Qualifications Positive, can‑do attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile. Ability to work extended hours as required by the season. Willingness to work Saturdays and evenings when required by workload. Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure. Takes initiative to learn new techniques and improve processes. Previous greenhouse, agriculture, production, or leadership experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right individual. Working Conditions Physically active role, including standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motions. Greenhouse environment with variable humidity and temperature. Flexibility for extended hours during peak production seasons. Fast‑paced, team‑oriented production environment. Total Rewards Competitive compensation: $22–25$ USD per hour, depending on expertise and experience. Positive and supportive team environment.
