Social Worker

Career Team is looking to hire a Social Worker as part of the Employment and Training Services team. This position will be responsible for providing one‑on‑one and group interventions, counseling services, and staff support to help participants succeed. The role is expected to be 100% onsite. Social Worker roles include wide‑ranging support for mental, social, physical, emotional, and behavioral health aspects that may be beyond regular staff scope. Benefits: 401(k) with generous employer match Medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA option Disability insurance Supplemental insurance Paid holidays and paid time off on an accrual basis Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success: Meet each participant for a 1‑on‑1 introductory session within 14 days of enrollment Respond within 24 hours to participants’ requests for service Provide individual and group supports and interventions Provide individual and group counseling sessions Make referrals and appropriate linkages Partner with other staff, including case managers, to provide wrap‑around services Support customers in achieving their individual success plans Educate and train other staff Maintain accurate records of all case management interactions Submit required reports Report any critical incidents to appropriate authorities, supervisors, and contract managers Prepare and present reports of activities and accomplishments Apply a "ZAG" mindset to each day and task Other duties as assigned To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have: Maryland Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from an accredited university. Or a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Level II or III, with a bachelor’s degree (preferred). Preferred knowledge of EARN, TANF, or similar services Multilingual or bilingual preferred Training in trauma‑informed care, harm reduction, de‑escalation techniques, and vicarious trauma Excellent communication and computer skills Knowledge of local region and relevant partners Strong multitasking and proactive skills Ability to facilitate/supervise groups (preferred) Experience with homelessness issues, and barriers faced by families, children, and veterans experiencing homelessness Ability to use positive engagement, motivational, and leadership skills in a culturally appropriate way with diverse populations Experience in care coordination Verbal and written communication skills, detail‑oriented record‑keeping, and excellent computer skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good boundaries and appropriate use of authority Ability to handle critical feedback and provide it to others Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments Flexibility, creativity, positive attitude, and humor A valid driver’s license Salary: $60,000 – $65,000 annually Employment Type: Full‑time, Exempt Background Check Requirements: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check (including criminal, prior employment and education verification).
