Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour + Monthly Bonus

A Day in the Shop

You roll in, open a new service order, and dive into diagnostics on a truck-mounted carpet cleaning unit. By mid-morning, you’re pressure-testing a 3-cylinder gas engine, referencing troubleshooting guides and manufacturer repair manuals to pinpoint an intermittent fault. After lunch, you coordinate the workload with fellow techs, line up parts with vendors, and present an estimate for a portable extractor that needs a pump rebuild. Before closing time, you tidy your bay, update appointments in the scheduling software, and call a customer with a clear, courteous status update.

What You’ll Work On

• Diagnose and repair systems and components used in commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-prep industries.
• Equipment commonly includes: basic automotive systems; 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines; truck-mounted carpet cleaning units; portable carpet extractors; hard-surface floor cleaning machines; duct cleaning equipment; deodorizing equipment; dehumidifiers; air scrubbers; air movers; HEPA vacuums.
• Use testing equipment, troubleshooting resources, and manufacturer repair manuals accurately and efficiently.
• Evaluate equipment and communicate additional repair or service recommendations.
• Meet or exceed service department quality and productivity targets.
• Collaborate with supervisors, other technicians, and store staff; offer assistance when needed.
• Practice correct use and upkeep of shop equipment and tools; keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Create service orders, schedule repairs with customers, and manage appointments in scheduling software.
• Communicate with customers in person, by phone, and via email.
• Prepare bids and present estimates for repairs and services.
• Coordinate shop workload, order parts, work with vendors, and align service work with other store employees.

What You Bring

• 2+ years’ experience preferred in one or more: commercial cleaning/restoration equipment, small engine repair and maintenance, pressure washer service, or vehicle repair/maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (no DUIs or careless/reckless driving on MVR within the last 3 years).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own a basic set of mechanic’s tools.
• Strong technical aptitude, mechanical skills, and attention to detail with efficient, accurate diagnostic/problem-solving ability.
• Safety-first mindset: consistently use safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required PPE.
• Proven ability to deliver quality work on time and lift 50+ lbs regularly.
• Professional appearance and demeanor; solid written and verbal communication; basic computer skills.
• Occasional overtime required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a bonus.
