We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy manufacturing operation in Geismar, Louisiana. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys high-volume invoice processing, maintaining organized financial records, and working closely with accounting and business partners. The role offers the chance to contribute to day-to-day payables accuracy while supporting a growing team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage clerical and administrative activities that keep the accounts payable and finance function running efficiently.

• Review invoices for accuracy, assign proper coding, and prepare documents for timely entry and payment processing.

• Reconcile payable records against supporting documentation and assist with balancing sub-ledger activity to the general ledger.

• Process employee expense submissions and support routine check runs, including handling payments that require expedited turnaround.

• Respond to questions from internal departments and external vendors with a detail-focused, service-oriented approach.

• Organize incoming department correspondence, distribute mail, and maintain orderly files for invoices, checks, and related records.

• Support audit requests by gathering documentation and helping ensure records are complete and compliant with company standards.

• Contribute to additional accounting or administrative assignments as business needs change.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or closely related accounting support role is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice processing, and check run procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence working with accounting systems such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact well with both operational and finance teams.
• Ability to work with urgency, remain flexible during interruptions, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
