Job Overview RN - Endoscopy Center, Carle Health, Champaign, IL. The staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, rotates through prep, intra‑procedure, and recovery phases for routine GI procedures, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy, and delivers moderate sedation under physician direction. The RN collaborates with unit staff, delegates to unlicensed personnel, assists the CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement, and ensures patient and employee safety. Responsibilities Perform all duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care. Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. Implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modify plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. Report and correct safety hazards and incidents. Communicate with others directly and privately to resolve issues. Offer constructive feedback to support professional development of peers. Identify learning needs and initiate appropriate solutions. Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies. Prepare patient for procedure, complete assessment, review health history, start IV, and provide education. Monitor and sedate patients during procedure. Provide care in both phase 1 and phase 2 recovery. Qualifications Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 3 months – American Heart Association (AHA). College Diploma in Nursing. Previous nursing experience preferred. Salary Range $33.11 per hour – $53.88 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
