Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Cath Lab

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Onsite | 4 x 9-hour shifts; occasional overtime for emergent cases; 6–8 call shifts per month (weeknight and weekend); weekend call rotation approximately every 6–7 weekends (Friday 5:30 PM – Monday 6:00 AM); holiday call requirements apply

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiac catheterization lab setting handling 4–20 cases per day at a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients presenting with diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital conditions, TAVR, MitraClip, and peripheral vascular cases
• Interpret cardiac rhythm strips and titrate drips as needed during procedures
• Function as circulator within a 3-person team (1 RN and 2 Radiologic Technologists) for routine cases and a 4-person team for call cases
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities when serving as the on-call nurse
• Document patient care accurately using the facility's electronic medical record system

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Experience titrating vasoactive or cardiac drips
• Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a cardiac catheterization lab environment
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR and GE or Philips monitoring equipment
• Interventional radiology (IR) experience, which may allow for cross-coverage opportunities
