And you have done it inside a firm where estates is the side department, the thing that gets attention when family law or personal injury is slow.

We are offering you the other version of that.

Mulembo Law is building an estates, trust, guardianship, and probate practice, and we are hiring the attorney who will lead it. Not manage the overflow. Lead it. That means shaping how we intake these matters, what we charge, what we say no to, and how we market it. Our firm structure puts attorneys at the head of practice areas, and this seat is open.

Today, our caseload is primarily family law, and your caseload will start there too. That is the honest picture. The estates practice is being built, not inherited, and you are being hired to build it while carrying family law matters that fund the runway.

If that reads as a bait and switch, this is not your role. If it reads as the reason to take it, keep going.

Real ownership. Practice area heads at Mulembo Law make decisions, not recommendations. If the intake process for probate is wrong, you fix it.

Pre-screened clients. We aggressively screen every client before onboarding. You will not spend your week managing someone who should never have been signed.

Planned growth. We are hiring our third attorney because the plan calls for it, not because someone quit. The firm's three-year vision includes a Tucson headquarters and Phoenix Metro expansion, and this practice area is part of how we get there.

Work Structure

Hybrid. Court appearances, client meetings, and team collaboration are onsite in Tucson. Drafting and case preparation can be remote when it makes sense.

Compensation:

$120,000 - $150,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

• Carry a family law caseload including divorce, custody, parenting time, support, and modifications, with real courtroom time (we are in court regularly)

• Handle estates and probate matters: wills, trusts, powers of attorney, formal and informal probate, trust administration, guardianship and conservatorship

• Design the intake criteria, fee structure, workflow, and document templates for the estates practice

• Partner with firm leadership on marketing and positioning for the practice area

• Advise clients honestly through decisions that are often emotional and always consequential

• Mentor paralegals and staff as the practice area grows into its own team

Qualifications:

• Active Arizona Bar admission in good standing

• Demonstrated experience in estates, trusts, probate, or guardianship matters

• Family law experience, or clear willingness and ability to carry a family law caseload while the estates practice is built

• Excellent drafting skills; trust and estate documents live or die on precision

• Self-directed. This role has no playbook yet because you are writing it.

• Willingness to travel for court appearances throughout Arizona

Strongly Preferred

• Experience opening or scaling a practice area, department, or book of business

• Trust administration and contested probate experience

• Spanish fluency
