Complete the 12-month Nurse Residency Program: Float Pool Track starting October 26, 2026 Participate in educational components and up to 18 weeks of preceptor-led clinical experiences Train on medical, surgical, and step-down units at Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals Support 40 nursing units serving a wide variety of complex diagnoses Complete ACLS, dysrhythmia training, and step-down competencies Participate in preceptor-led clinical training, independent practice, and professional development courses Float between Wilmington and Christiana Hospitals on medical, surgical, step-down, and transitional care units after successful program completion Attend continued residency meetings during months 8, 10, and 12 Complete required assessments, rank preferred specialties and/or units, and participate in interviews Sign an employment commitment agreement requiring two years of service and at least 15 months on the unit of hire Requirements Senior Nursing Students, Nurse Graduates and new RN's Graduating from accredited nursing school (BSN Preferred) BLS required Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program Eligible for Delaware license as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse and obtain prior to start date Must pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware prior to starting position Must be willing and able to work all shifts (day, evening, and overnight), including weekends and holidays, during and after the residency program Cover letter and transcripts required with application Two clinical recommendations required One on-demand audio interview through HeyMilo and two clinical instructor references through SkillSurvey required before interview Core Competencies Demonstrates clinical proficiency through participation in a comprehensive Nurse Residency Program, including training in medical, surgical, and step-down units, while maintaining compliance with licensing requirements and demonstrating flexibility in shift availability.
