Relocation Authorized: National - Single Telework Type: Full-Time Office/Project Work Location: Clay, NY Salary Range: $119,800 - $182,700 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.) Project Overview Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets, and this project aligns with our objectives to deliver innovative, high‑quality outcomes across multiple disciplines. Job Summary The Lead Scaffolding Superintendent provides overall leadership, planning, coordination, and execution of all scaffold operations on the project. The role serves as the senior field leader, overseeing scaffold construction, maintenance, inspection, modification, and dismantling across multiple work areas. Additionally, the Lead Superintendent provides direct supervision to multiple Scaffold Superintendents, coordinating manpower, priorities, schedules, safety performance, quality expectations, and client interface activities. Major Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and supervise multiple Scaffold Superintendents and scaffold field leadership. Establish project‑wide scaffold execution strategies, priorities, and workforce plans. Coordinate scaffold estimating, ordering, lay‑down/stock yard operations, inventory tracking, and system integration. Plan and maintain safety, schedule, cost, and productivity of Scaffold Craft Professional resources. Lead weekly and daily planning meetings with Scaffold Superintendents and field leadership. Serve as the primary interface with Project Construction Management regarding scaffold execution, resource planning, and performance. Coordinate scaffold planning with other Superintendents from multiple disciplines, Craft Professional, and Construction Management. Ensure scaffold requirements are identified early and integrated into project work packages. Champion Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy, ensuring safety remains integrated into every aspect of scaffold operations. Support workforce development and training initiatives. Develop future leaders through coaching, performance management, and succession planning. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10‑13 years of relevant experience or 14‑17 years of relevant work experience with preferred 5 years of supervisory experience leading large scaffold organizations. Required Knowledge and Skills Extensive knowledge of scaffold construction methods, regulations, and industry best practices. Proven ability to lead multiple Scaffold Superintendents and large field organizations. Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy. Knowledge of OSHA scaffold requirements and construction safety regulations. Experience coordinating union craft labor and large field workforces. Strong leadership, communication, planning, and decision‑making abilities.
