Technology Executive, Head of Hyper-Converged Infrastructure Stack Development

Position Overview The Head of Hyper‑Converged Infrastructure Stack Development Executive will lead the implementation and delivery of technology solutions aligned with a focused converged infrastructure strategy. This executive drives evaluation, automation, and software‑defined solutions, blending deep infrastructure expertise with modern software engineering and automation practices. Key Responsibilities Manage relationships with business and technology executives, sponsors, and vendors for technical products, ensuring alignment with portfolio strategy and client feedback. Create an inclusive and healthy working environment, sponsoring process improvements and resolving organizational impediments. Conduct portfolio‑level resourcing and financial management, track strategic technology outcomes, and promote organizational resources to achieve objectives. Establish a culture of risk and compliance management and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and standards. Oversee procurement, vendor evaluations, and contract negotiations for technical products and services. Lead a team of technical experts in converged infrastructure, automation, and software‑defined HCI platforms. Drive automation‑first mindset, leading the development of APIs, CLIs, and orchestration layers for full‑stack provisioning, monitoring, and remediation. Collaborate closely with platform, development, and cloud engineering teams to integrate with CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑native systems. Own the vision and roadmap for HCI software strategy—observability, lifecycle management, self‑healing, and compliance. Integrate open‑source and commercial tools to accelerate infrastructure automation and operational excellence. Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including code quality, test automation, and secure development practices. Automate manual processes and create real‑time dashboards and reporting. Define and nurture a culture of documentation, knowledge transition, and open information sharing. Facilitate performance and career development of teams through reviews, coaching, and development plans. Proactively assess capabilities and delivery targets to ensure alignment with organizational goals, SLAs, and demand management. Identify and remediate material shortcomings in organizational performance capabilities. Manage Cloud and Data Center Services Application Inventory Tools within the organizational scope, adhering to enterprise processes. Required Qualifications 20+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering with at least 10 years in leadership roles. Strong software development background in languages such as Python, Go, or Java. Deep expertise in virtualization (VMware, KVM), containerization (Kubernetes), and storage/networking systems. Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi) and automation frameworks. Hands‑on experience with HCI technologies (VMware Cloud Foundations, Nutanix, VxRail, or custom platforms). Solid understanding of distributed systems and modern cloud infrastructure patterns. Track record of leading engineering teams through agile development and DevOps practices. Exceptional communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hybrid/multi‑cloud environments and edge computing architectures. Familiarity with SRE practices and operational metrics (SLA, SLO, SLI, error budgets). Contributions to open‑source infrastructure or automation projects. Desired Skills Strategic thinking and business prioritization. Expertise in virtualization, automation, and converged infrastructure products. Familiarity with application and infrastructure CI/CD. Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and modern SRE practices. Experience managing teams in large, complex, regulated environments. Strong leadership presence across engineering, security, risk, and business groups. Knowledge of modern product and agile operating models. Visionary product implementation aligned with enterprise strategy and risk models. Project dependency optimization and execution efficiency.
