Transform Lives Through Communication in the Heart of Nebraska – Embrace a Role as a Speech Therapist
Imagine a career where you not only facilitate communication but also genuinely empower individuals to express themselves. As a Speech Therapist in Lincoln, Nebraska, your role transcends traditional speech therapy; you will foster connections, rebuild confidence, and open up a world of possibilities — from assisting young children on their speech journey to supporting the elderly in reclaiming their ability to communicate.
This position offers a rare opportunity to work with diverse clientele, allowing you to provide therapy tailored to all ages in a dynamic setting that includes outpatient therapy while providing occasional inpatient support. Whether your focus is on nurturing early language skills in children, addressing communication challenges following neurological events in adults, or helping seniors regain their linguistic capabilities, you will find both satisfaction and flexibility in your practice.
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments coupled with observational techniques.
Create individualized treatment strategies based on both immediate achievements and the overarching goals of communication, cognitive abilities, or swallowing competence.
Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions highlighting skills in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to design integrated care approaches.
Educate patients and families to reinforce and support therapeutic progress beyond clinical interactions.
Provide assistance during inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring seamless continuity throughout the care journey.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation that aligns with regulatory and organizational standards.
Remain committed to ongoing education and professional development through continued learning and collaborative peer engagement.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within the first month of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatments suitable for all age groups, with an in-depth understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and integrated care teams.
Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Exemplary clinical judgment paired with adept problem-solving capabilities.
Experience with electronic health records and adherence to documentation protocols.
Competitive pay reflective of experience.
Flexible scheduling options that promote work-life balance and diversified caseloads.
Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) alongside holidays.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
Support for continuing education expenses and professional growth.
A collaborative, team-oriented environment that prioritizes high-quality care and ongoing learning.
In this role, you won't merely be a speech therapist — you'll be an integral part of a community mission, revitalizing voices, enhancing communication, and creating joyful experiences through the vital human connections that define us.
You'll collaborate with clinicians who are more than just co-workers; they are family, within a workspace that champions teamwork over rivalry. Every patient has their unique narrative; your role will be to help in crafting the next chapter.
