Operations Manager — Sewer, Drain Cleaning & Plumbing

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational infrastructure of the company, with accountability for people, facilities, equipment, safety, fleet, customer service, and operational standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring prior experience in the sewer, drain cleaning, plumbing, or closely related field-service industry . The Operations Manager works across office operations to ensure employees have the people, tools, equipment, training, processes, and support necessary to perform their jobs safely and effectively.

The ideal candidate understands the realities of a fast-paced service business and is equally capable of solving an immediate operational problem and building the systems needed to prevent that problem from recurring.

• Oversee day-to-day HR administration and employee-related operational matters.
• Maintain the company culture built around safety, professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
• Partner with leadership to determine staffing needs across field and office operations.
• Establish and maintain clear job descriptions, roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
• Manage the performance review process, including annual reviews and periodic performance check-ins.
• Lead the company’s safety program and reinforce a strong safety culture across field and office operations.
• Maintain required OSHA documentation, training records, safety policies, and incident reporting.
• Oversee the company’s facilities and ensure buildings, yards, storage areas, and workspaces are safe, organized, secure, and properly maintained.
• Oversee company vehicles, including maintenance, inspections, registrations, insurance, repairs, and replacement planning.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of operational leadership experience within sewer, drain cleaning, plumbing, excavation, utilities, or a closely related field-service environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of customer service within a residential and/or commercial service environment.
• Ability to create structure, processes, documentation, and accountability.
• Experience handling employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and day-to-day HR responsibilities.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with ownership, managers, office staff, technicians, vendors, and customers.

Salary Rabge: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00/Annually, based on experience.
