Position: Registered Dietitian

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)

Certification Requirements:

Registered Dietitian (RD) / Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Job Responsibilities:

Nutritional Services

Provide clinical inpatient and outpatient medical nutrition therapy (MNT) including nutrition education, assessment, and treatment to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
Deliver Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) to patients with diabetes, prediabetes, or diabetes-related conditions.
Interpret data to develop a comprehensive nutrition assessment and consultation, determining treatment requirements and necessary education.
Educate patients on therapy or treatment clearly and professionally to alleviate fear and anxiety.
Ensure completion of routine and priority tasks within established departmental time frames.

Clerical Duties

Perform general clerical tasks, including answering phones, updating patient appointments, and managing patient electronic health records (EHR).
Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patient care, including all therapy performed.

Safety and Compliance

Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including the cleaning and disinfection of equipment post-use.
Ensure confidentiality of all patient protected health information (PHI) and adhere to privacy regulations.
Comply with facility policies and local, state, and federal regulations to deliver high-quality patient care.
Retain certification and complete continuing education requirements for accreditation and licensure.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of nutritional principles and procedures for various medical conditions.
Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information to diverse audiences.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health records (EHR).
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Capability to identify and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions.

Patient Demographics:
