Human Resources Specialist

Essential Functions Recruitment Manage the full cycle of recruitment efforts for various positions within the company. Source candidates through online channels, networking, and industry contacts. Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers. Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements. Training and Development Develop and implement training programs that align with company goals and employee development needs. Coordinate and conduct orientation sessions for new hires. Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers. Monitor training programs to ensure effectiveness and make necessary improvements. Evaluate and report on the impact of training programs on employee performance. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to recruitment, training, and employee development activities. Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed. Stay updated on HR trends and best practices in recruitment, training, and employee development. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, bending and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is regularly required for filing and other record keeping duties. Vision must be sufficient for imputing data into a computer. Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries. Ability to travel up to 25% via ground, rail and air. Environmental Conditions Indoor/Home office environment. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dusty environments, welding fumes and coal dust when traveling. Qualifications College Degree in Human Resources or a related field required. Minimum of 1 year in a Human Resources capacity. Ability to maintain confidentiality with dealing with personal and protected information. Ability to multitask and prioritize your workflow. Intermediate MS Office skills including Excel, Word and Power Point. Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. Efficient at communicating both written and verbal. Must be willing to take and pass all mandatory pre-employment testing. Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license along with an e‑Rail Safe badge and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy.
