Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse position is located in West Virginia. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-operative open heart patients, arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, and those requiring ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring support. The nurse will work night shifts within a high-acuity unit that emphasizes patient safety and quality care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensing to submit; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience with a focus on open heart post-operative care, familiarity with CRRT, temporary pacemaker and post-permanent pacer management, and experience with acute myocardial infarctions and mediastinal/chest tubes. Must have ventilator management, hypothermia protocol experience, and be knowledgeable about titratable drips such as Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and others.
• Preferred Qualifications: Open heart experience, IABP or Impella experience, hemodynamic monitoring, and the ability to read telemetry strips on Philips monitors.
• Orientation: One week of unit-specific orientation including modules, Epic EMR training, and unit integration.
• Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed and often granted.
• Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and as needed to fill unit needs.
• Other Unit Details: Night shift charge nurses may take assignments; nurse aides are present with 1-2 per shift; in-house hospitalist or intensivist; RT staff available 24/7 with vent, Trach-vent, BiPAP, and CPaP equipment; telemonitoring managed by techs, with alarms addressed by RNs who read their own strips every 4 hours.
• Additional Notes: Royal Blue scrubs required; one-week orientation provided; float to ACU and ICU, with potential to float to Med-Surg & Tele up to six patients.
