Seasonal Immunizing Pharmacist Part Time

As a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) at CVS Health, you help transform health care for our customers by improving access, lowering costs, and being a trusted partner. Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC), overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and guiding the team to do the same, using the safety guardrails at every workstation. Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the pharmacy team, demonstrating compassionate care, collaborating with the patient’s total healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance and/or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Support effective management of pharmacy inventory in all pharmacies worked, following inventory best practices with a special focus on protecting cold chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills by completing company‑required trainings, CMEs, and seeking opportunities to expand knowledge. Support access to care and patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible, empowering the pharmacy team to provide holistic care at every step of the patient care journey. Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; maintain compliance with CVS Health policies, controlled substance dispensing, record‑keeping, patient privacy, and workplace safety. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Attention and Focus: Concentrate on tasks over time and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs. Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively help people in a friendly manner, notice and respond to patient reactions. Communication Skills: Use verbal and written communication effectively, practice active listening, and ask appropriate questions. Mathematical Reasoning: Apply math to determine tablet counts, day’s supply, and bottle requirements. Problem Resolution: Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action among multiple options. Physical Demands: Be mobile, remain upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, and perform tasks requiring precision. Lift up to 20 lbs or more as required. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Accurate prescription fulfillment and immunization delivery are critical. Work Hours and Compensation Anticipated weekly hours: 29. Type: Part‑time. Pay range: $60.00 – $76.00 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
