MATERIAL HANDLER 

Location: Peru, IL  

Pay: $17.50

Schedule: Full-Time, Overtime as Required Potential for Long Term Hire 

Job Overview: We are seeking a Material Handler to support manufacturing operations by moving, storing, loading, and unloading materials throughout the facility. This position is responsible for safely operating forklifts and overhead cranes, maintaining inventory and shipping records, and ensuring materials are delivered to the proper locations. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and able to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, distribute, and store raw materials, supplies, and finished products.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to load, unload, and transport materials safely.
• Review incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, inventory, and production records.
• Transport materials manually and with material-handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including disposal of scrap materials.
• Report unsafe conditions and follow all company safety procedures.

Please note: Candidates must be willing to work in a team setting, have great communication skills (written and verbal), and must be able to pass a background check. 

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Basic math skills and the ability to interpret production paperwork.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
