Job OverviewA law firm seeks an Attorney - Personal Injury to join their team in Davenport, Iowa. This role offers the opportunity to build a rewarding litigation career while making a meaningful difference for injured clients. The attorney will manage cases, advocate for clients, negotiate with insurance carriers and opposing counsel, and collaborate with an experienced legal team. Duties Represent clients in personal injury matters from case development through resolution. Evaluate claims, investigate case facts, and develop liability and damages evidence. Analyze case strengths, risks, and potential outcomes to develop appropriate strategies. Interview clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties to gather facts and evidence. Review medical records, insurance information, and other case documentation. Conduct thorough legal research and stay current on statutory laws and procedural updates. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents. Conduct and defend depositions and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony. Prepare for and participate in court depositions, hearings, and trials. Maintain professional communication with clients throughout their case. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all parties involved. Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations for favorable outcomes. Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and other team members. Maintain accurate and timely case documentation. Deliver high-level client service while upholding professional standards. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Iowa, or ability to obtain Iowa licensure. Personal injury experience preferred; transferable litigation experience encouraged. Experience handling a litigation caseload preferred. Deposition, mediation, hearing, negotiation, and/or trial experience preferred. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case-management skills. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and exercise sound legal judgment. Strong interpersonal and client-service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal support professionals. Commitment to professionalism, accountability, and excellent client service. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Active license to practice law in Iowa, or ability to obtain Iowa licensure.
