Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Precision Steel Surface Grinder to join our team in Clinton Township, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for operating surface grinding machines to produce high-quality precision components. Responsibilities- Set up and operate surface grinding machines (Parker Majestic and Okamoto) to grind steel components to specified tolerances.
- Read & interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Inspect in-process and finished products using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols at all times.
- Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or related field preferred.
- 5 to 10 years proven experience as a surface grinder or in a similar machining role.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Comfortable with low volume, high mix production environments
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a machining environment.
- Steady hand, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate effectively.
- Must have own tools (e.g. micrometers, calipers, depth micrometer, etc.).

- Equipment Repair & Maintenance
- Manual Machining Skills
- CAD/CAM Software
- High School / GED
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Blueprint Reading
