IT Support Technician

About the role As an IT Support Technician, you will provide essential day-to-day technical support to ensure smooth and uninterrupted business operations. You will serve as a first point of contact for technology-related issues, helping team members resolve problems efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service. This role is ideal for an entry-level candidate who is tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You will play a key role in maintaining systems, supporting users, and contributing to a reliable and secure IT environment. What you'll do Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and other IT equipment Assist with user account management, including password resets and access permissions Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in a ticketing system Maintain an organized inventory of IT assets, equipment, and supplies Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the IT manager when appropriate Assist with routine system maintenance, including software updates and backups Troubleshoot basic hardware, peripheral, and connectivity issues Provide support with a professional, customer-focused approach Perform other duties as assigned Basic knowledge of computer systems and troubleshooting Some familiarity with Windows and/or macOS operating systems Strong communication skills and ability to assist users with varying levels of technical knowledge Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site in Lynchburg, VA Previous experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar role (preferred) Experience working with ticketing systems (preferred) Basic understanding of networking concepts (preferred) Health, dental, vision, and life insurance (available after 60-90 days) 401(k) participation with 4% employer matching contributions PTO and 8 paid company holidays per year Tuition-free college courses through our Education Program (up to $7K/year) and reimbursement for approved professional/personal development books Exclusive discounts on roofing, gutters, repairs, solar, and windows About Stego Management Services We provide support to Cenvar Roofing & Solar, a growing residential re-roofing company committed to quality workmanship and top-tier customer service.
