Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Previous experience working in a school setting as a paraprofessional or similar support role
• Proficiency in basic sign language (formal interpreter certification not required)
• Ability to provide assistance to students with diverse learning and communication needs
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient demeanor
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere
• Flexibility to adapt to different classroom situations and ages as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support students one-on-one or in small groups under the direction of classroom teachers
• Assist with implementing lesson plans and reinforcing learning activities
• Use basic sign language skills to help facilitate communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Monitor student progress and encourage participation in classroom activities
• Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other school staff for holistic student support
