1st or 2nd Shift Welder - Aluminum

GenMet Corp is in need of experienced Welders to join our team. We are looking for hardworking professionals who enjoy meeting challenges and surpassing expectations. The ideal candidates will have a background in specifically aluminum welding. We are in search of candidates who are looking for long-term, secure and rewarding employment. Utilize/interpret blueprints/engineering drawings for setup, welding, and inspection of parts to ensure customer specifications are met. Understand layout and planned sequence of operations. Verify conformance of work piece to specifications and quality standards. Prepare surfaces to be welded and set up and assemble parts to be welded. Set up proper equipment for different welding jobs. Able to use conventional and precision measuring instruments. Welder will also perform routine PM’s on the equipment and maintain a safe and orderly workplace. Qualifications MUST be Safety and Quality conscious MUST be able to be certified to AWS D1.1 welding standard, at a minimum. MUST be able to setup and MIG weld (TIG a PLUS) aluminum. Ability to setup jobs from blueprints Math abilities to solve problems and perform inspection High School Diploma or GED, PLUS 2 years welding fabrication experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must meet physical requirements for this position as follows: Stand or Sit, Move, Use hands/Fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, talk/hear, see, carry weight/lift (up to 50lb’s) Cultural Requirements Demonstrate uncompromising ethical behavior Value team accomplishments over personal/individual accomplishments.
