Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting, credit, and customer account activities. This role works closely with management and provides backup support for Accounts Payable as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily credit and account-related functions
• Reconcile daily cash drawer activity
• Process customer payments, deposits, and account transactions
• Set up and maintain new customer accounts
• Process trade references and obtain commercial credit reports
• Assist with resolving customer billing questions, account discrepancies, and disputes
• Provide professional customer service by phone, email, and in person
• Complete month-end accounting procedures and closing-related tasks
• Assist with daily accounting operations and month-end close
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank statement reconciliations
• Serve as backup support for Accounts Payable functions
• Maintain organized, accurate records and documentation
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, collections, or general accounting
• Familiarity with commercial credit checks, trade references, and customer account setup
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, creative approach to resolving issues
• Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
