Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting, credit, and customer account activities. This role works closely with management and provides backup support for Accounts Payable as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily credit and account-related functions
- Reconcile daily cash drawer activity
- Process customer payments, deposits, and account transactions
- Set up and maintain new customer accounts
- Process trade references and obtain commercial credit reports
- Assist with resolving customer billing questions, account discrepancies, and disputes
- Provide professional customer service by phone, email, and in person
- Complete month-end accounting procedures and closing-related tasks
- Assist with daily accounting operations and month-end close
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank statement reconciliations
- Serve as backup support for Accounts Payable functions
- Maintain organized, accurate records and documentation
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, collections, or general accounting
- Familiarity with commercial credit checks, trade references, and customer account setup
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, creative approach to resolving issues
- Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
