Librarian/Media Specialist (3) Job ID: 2200 Location: District Responsibilities Assists Language Arts supervisors with the creation of classroom libraries for the district Researches and orders authentic young adult literature titles that connect reading and writing themes in Language Arts textbooks for the district Analyzes library collections and prepares annual book orders Researches databases and Internet applications that support curriculum for the district Co-teaches the research process on an "as needed" basis at intermediate and middle school level Conducts annual library needs assessments Assists library aides in the maintenance and care of school libraries and their collections for the district Creates a library reading incentive program for the district Takes inventory of all media center materials Operates specialized computer system for circulation media center materials Maintains and organizes periodicals Assists in controlling status of books in circulation Orders library supply materials Assists with the processing of new materials Liaison with the Pennsauken Township Library Qualifications Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences Experience in a school library General knowledge of the procedures, practices and equipment of a school library center Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and school employees Endorsement #2850, or #2855 Library Skills Development New Jersey State Certification REQUIRED MUST pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees in effect Terms Salary, terms and conditions of employment as per PEA contract #J-18808-Ljbffr Pennsauken Public Schools
