Job Description The Nurse Manager I is responsible for managing nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/service. This includes clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, and compliance with internal and external regulatory and survey requirements. The Nurse Manager I collaborates with professionals such as the Nursing Clinical Director, Physician Leader, and staff to ensure the unit maintains high standards of patient care and responds effectively to patient and family needs, as well as organizational goals. Responsibilities Supervise and evaluate nursing personnel to maintain standards of care. Plan, coordinate, evaluate, and facilitate nursing care delivery using professional expertise. Recognize patient issues and participate in their resolution. Contribute to a professional environment that fosters growth and development. Participate in developing and implementing nursing service programs. Review patient-care and narcotic records periodically. Participate in orientation and evaluation of new nursing staff. Provide care based on age-specific needs and appropriate communication techniques. Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in nursing required; Master's preferred. 3-5 years of clinical nursing care with supervisory experience preferred.
