About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - BMT Oncology Profession: RN Specialty: Bone Marrow Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related field License: RN License Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: Minimum of 1 year of current BMT Oncology Hospital acute care experience Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: This is a travel RN position specializing in BMT Oncology. The shift runs from 07:00 to 17:30. The unit has between 80-100 beds and is staffed by 37 RNs, including full-time, part-time, and PRN positions. Staffing includes 2 charge RNs, 1 resource RN, and 16-19 RNs responsible for patient assignments. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:6, with lower ratios for higher acuity patients. Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and ICU medical chemo adapters. Electronic medical records are managed through Meditech and Onco systems. The ideal candidate should be outgoing, personable, and warm. The center is the 15th largest transplant center in the nation and participates in many phase 1, first-in-human clinical trials. There is a growing CAR-T program in the unit. Preferred candidates will have prior BMT/HemOnc experience. Typical procedures performed include chemotherapy administration and central line draws.
