Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for experienced and degreed Environmental Specialists to fill contract positions in Calera, AL.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Candidates should have one to five years of experience in environmental sampling and compliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Level 1 Environmental Specialist assists with environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, and sustainability initiatives.
• This role involves collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental impacts, and support sustainable practices.
• Basic knowledge of environmental regulations, project management skills, and the capacity to collaborate on environmental matters within the organization are necessary.
• Qualifications include familiarity with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes
• Experience operating power boats and watercraft;
• Ability to work as part of a team on multiple projects
• Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills
• Effective communication abilities
• Attention to detail.

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
