Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners. This role extends to performing Computed Tomography (CT) procedures, capturing detailed cross-sectional anatomical images.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform CT scans following approved protocols and radiologist instructions.
• Review patient clinical history to ensure accurate procedure alignment and documentation.
• Prepare and instruct patients to ensure cooperation, comfort, and optimal imaging results.
• Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others.
• Position patients appropriately while considering their comfort and physical abilities.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Address patients' physical and psychological needs throughout procedures.
• Perform venipunctures as needed.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment and administer contrast media or medications as prescribed.
• Evaluate image quality and adjust display parameters accordingly.
• Initiate basic life support when necessary.
• Complete all required documentation and billing entries related to exams.
• Educate patients about tests and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, restock supplies, and report equipment issues.
• Provide guidance to students and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties.
• Support other departmental areas as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of sterile supplies and techniques relevant to CT procedures.
• Utilize 3D workstations for image reformatting and reconstruction.
• Manage imaging media release to authorized parties.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency.
• Experienced radiographer with foundational knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT procedures.

Licensure and Certifications:

• State certification as a radiologic technologist.
• Current R.T. (R) ARRT credential or equivalent.
• Obtain or maintain R.T. (R) (CT) credential within two years of employment.

This position offers varied shifts and is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
