Patient Care Associate (PCA)

Schedule 36 hours/week. The Endoscopy department is closed on weekends and holidays. What You'll Do Support patients before and after procedures. Assist with walking, dressing, toileting, feeding, and other activities of daily living. Obtain vital signs and report changes to the nursing team. Transport patients throughout the department. Prepare patient rooms and turn over recovery spaces. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges. Answer call lights and support patient communication. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment. Training is provided for additional clinical skills, including IV removal. Training is provided for additional clinical skills, including 12-lead EKGs. Training is provided for additional clinical skills, including blood draws (phlebotomy). You may also assist with administrative and front desk responsibilities as needed. What Makes You Successful Reliable and dependable. Compassionate and patient-centered. Previous clerical experience (preferably in a healthcare setting). Medical terminology is preferred. Ability to read and write at level 8, as documented on "Invest," the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software. An ability to set appropriate priorities and organize workflow. An ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail during frequent interruptions. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with support and professional staff and patients. Work Environment This role is based in a busy hospital setting and includes direct patient care, frequent standing and walking, and assisting with patient movement while following all hospital safety and infection prevention guidelines.
