Location Avera McKennan Hospital, United States of America Worker Type Regular Work Shift Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends Pay Range $32.50 - $48.50 per hour, actual rate dependent on experience Position Highlights Varied shifts, 1/3rd weekend/holiday schedule; 72 hours/2 weeks This position may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $15,000. About the Role Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing nursing care objectives, defining nursing interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team. Coordinate with other healthcare providers and support patients, families, and friends emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. Develop nursing care plans through medical history, patient examination, and documentation, including nursing diagnosis and care objectives. Teach patients and families about condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate patient care against therapeutic standards and adjust plans as needed. Maintain safe patient care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration protocols, and controlled substance regulations. Document patient care services in patient and department records. Maintain patient care equipment and supplies, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ordering. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Ability to work specified hours. Visual acuity adequate for duties. Effective communication and hearing skills. Ability to perform essential job functions, including knowledge, skills, and abilities described above.
