Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting for high-acuity cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical patients
• Care for patients with diagnoses including cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, CABG/valve), CAD (STEMI, NSTEMI, AFib with RVR, cardiogenic shock), vascular conditions (peripheral bypasses, EVAR), and thoracic conditions (VATS)
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including every other weekend, holidays as scheduled, and floating within specialty, sister units, and lower-acuity areas as needed
• Complete all required onboarding compliance steps, including labs within 72 hours of contract signing and all compliance documents at least 5 days prior to start date

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 or more years of CVICU and/or open heart experience
• Current BLS certification – American Heart Association only
• Current ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
• CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
• Permanent address must be 50 or more miles from the facility location (locals not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with post-operative cardiac surgery patients including CABG and valve procedures
• Familiarity with vascular and thoracic surgical patient populations
• Comfort with floating within scope across specialty and lower-acuity units with no restrictions
