RN - Supervisor Profession: Nursing Specialty: House Supervisor Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 3x12 - Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years License: Current Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and STABLE Must-Have: ED experience required.BSN preferred. Description:Functions as the on-duty administrator for all departments during evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours.Makes frequent rounds throughout the facility to assess and evaluate the quality of patient care and the overall work environment.Seeks advice and support from Administrator On-Call and appropriate nursing leadership as needed.Communicates situations requiring awareness, attention, and follow-up to appropriate department heads.Provides written documentation when indicated.Maintains baseline clinical competence in patient care services across various units.Assesses the number of nursing personnel needed to provide safe patient care using acuity data, staff input, and clinical judgment.Adjusts staffing as needed.Ensures patient care is provided and documented per established policies and procedures.Obtains medications from Pharmacy after hours and records removal appropriately.Assists in the development and implementation of staff learning plans for orientation and training.Identifies and resolves problems and needs promptly.Implements and documents appropriate follow-up actions.Develops and supports cost containment methods.Serves on nursing and facility-wide committees as assigned.Contributes to maintaining an effective quality improvement program.Provides direction for patient and family education.Manages time effectively between administrative and clinical responsibilities.Suggests ideas for improvement within the work group and the larger facility.Works in an organized manner to complete assignments and meet deadlines.Bases decisions on the facility's mission, vision, and values.Evaluates current processes and recommends improvement priorities.Creates and maintains a safe work environment.Troubleshoots patient care equipment and seeks outside assistance as needed.Improves communications with customers and suppliers.Supports established policies and procedures to reduce variance and improve communication.Ensures compliance with facility policies and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Promotes professionalism in behavior and conduct.Provides assistance to family members and the general public.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to implement procedures during internal or external disasters.Serves as a resource to staff by responding to requests for information and advice.Assesses and improves staff performance through constructive feedback and conflict management.Reviews patient care assignments for appropriateness.Evaluates standards of nursing practice through various methods such as reviewing care plans and participating in quality improvement activities.Participates in revising practice standards as appropriate.Reports all incidents using established methods.Completes assigned work and projects according to schedules and deadlines.May assist in processing payroll as requested.Demonstrates electronic medical record competence and serves as a resource for staff.Assumes primary responsibility for developing, implementing, and monitoring department-specific quality improvement initiatives.Monitors key areas for quality performance and identifies issues for improvement.Reports departmental quality improvement initiatives to appropriate committees.Educates and motivates department staff in quality improvement efforts.Collaborates with other departments as necessary to enhance patient safety and care.Participates in emergency and disaster preparedness planning and drills as required.Contributes to the facility's response in times of real-life emergency events within the scope of professional and personal ability. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet Health
