Job Title: Data-Based Implementation Specialist

Compensation Range: 80-100$/hr W2

Our client is a 40-person company, 12 years in the making and still startup-spirited--that helps businesses migrate, transform, and run their most critical data on our platform. You will join the implementation team as a hands-on database specialist supporting 15–16 client onboardings simultaneously, working alongside client delivery managers and senior engineers in a flat, highly collaborative environment where everyone, including the founders still write SQL.

The immediate project involves consolidating two legacy organizations onto the platform, untangling decades-old datasets from multiple sources and mapping them cleanly into the company's data model. Long-term, this role is for someone who wants to maintain and evolve the database-driven applications behind it all, not just do one-off migrations.

What you'll do day to day

• Analyze how client data structures map to our data model and design the transformation logic to bridge the two
• Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and T-SQL transformation logic within SQL Server
• Wrangle data originating from Excel spreadsheets, Salesforce, and homegrown applications into standardized, importable formats
• Participate in client meetings to understand business requirements in their own terminology, translating their language into precise data operations
• Troubleshoot data issues and resolve mapping inconsistencies between legacy systems and our platform
• Collaborate closely with client delivery managers and fellow implementation team members throughout active projects
• Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our database-driven applications
• Help define and evolve internal processes as the team continues to grow

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong SQL Server / T-SQL skills — queries, stored procedures, data transformations
• Experience working with complex data models and performing data mapping across systems
• Hands-on data migration, transformation, and wrangling experience
• Ability to read abstract business requirements and translate them into database solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services, market data, or another data-heavy industry
• Database application development and maintenance experience (beyond pure ETL work)
• Client-facing experience gathering requirements and discussing business needs
• Familiarity with data from Salesforce, Excel, or homegrown applications
• Genuine curiosity about the industry and client business models
