Purchasing Agent - Aman New York

Location Overview Join our team at Aman New York in the iconic Crown Building, where the city’s original architectural splendour meets Aman’s harmonious design language. The location features a year‑round garden terrace, flagship spa, and spacious suites among the largest in the city. Role The Purchasing Agent ensures that all stocks and the storerooms are maintained in good condition and that all minimum inventories are met. He or she will also receive and distribute stocks to various departments on a timely basis. This position offers an hourly rate of $35. Responsibilities Order, receive, classify, store, and inventory food & beverage, materials, supplies, and equipment. Assist in maintaining perpetual inventories. Prepare requisitions for stock replacement. Develop methods and procedures for handling, storing, and rotating stock. Prepare lists of surplus or obsolete materials. Expedite any outstanding purchase orders. Supervise the loading, unloading, and dispatching of delivery trucks. Load and unload at the point of pick‑up, delivery, or distribution when necessary. Pack, unpack, count, weigh, and measure materials, supplies, and equipment upon receipt. Check materials received against invoices and notes, and report breakage and discrepancies in quantity or quality. Requirements 1 year of previous experience in hospitality, F&B, or a similar industry. Positive, engaging, and energetic personality. Highly organized, can manage time wisely, and work with little to no direct supervision. Exceptional attention to detail and extensive service knowledge. Sensitivity to cultural nuances. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast‑paced environment. Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Multilingual skills are a plus.
