EHS Specialist

Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Location: Jacksonville, FL – Goodrich Boulevard and Busch Drive facilities. Job Type: Onsite. Eligibility: U.S. citizenship required. Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance (L clearance). Existing clearance required after day 1. Responsibilities Supports continuous improvement initiatives for EH&S to achieve and maintain comprehensive compliance and workplace safety. Promotes the development and maintenance of new and current EH&S training programs. Executes initiatives, programs, procedures, reports, permits and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance. Monitors local performance against EH&S regulatory requirements. Supports business partners' facilities and employee practices to achieve and maintain understanding and compliance with EH&S regulations. Contributes to required environmental regulatory reports and submissions. Assists and develops materials for EH&S training and communications on subjects such as confined space, respiratory protection, compressed gases, electrical safety, ergonomics, etc. Manages relationships across specialized departments to maintain compliance. Supports EH&S compliance assurance audits by RTX, Collins Aerospace, or regulatory agencies. Conducts workplace safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses. Facilitates incident investigations and root cause analyses for environmental and safety events. Qualifications University degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience; or advanced degree and minimum 3 years of experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment. RCRA Hazardous Waste Management certification (preferred). Ergonomics certification (CPE, CHFP, AEP, AHFP, etc.) (preferred). Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credentials (preferred). Industrial hygiene experience. US DOT HAZMAT Ground Shipper experience. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Safety culture initiatives and Human and Organizational Performance concepts. Active Secret clearance (current).
