Dental Front Desk Lead

 

The Dental Front Desk Lead position is responsible for providing excellent customer service while managing the administrative functions of a dental office. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations and creates a welcoming environment for patients. You will work closely with the Treatment Coordinators in making sure that office operations are running smoothly.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
• Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
• Verify dental insurance coverage and process claims
• Collect payments, co-pays, and maintain accurate billing records
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality
• Coordinate with dental assistants and hygienists to manage patient flow
• Handle cancellations, rescheduling, and emergency appointments
• Keep the front desk area organized and presentable
• Oversee the other front desk staff, help with scheduling

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or college degree
• Previous experience in a dental or medical office (often preferred)
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures (helpful but not always required)
• Familiarity with dental software (we use Denticon)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Basic understanding of insurance and billing processes
• Attention to detail and professionalism
• Upbeat, happy personality, is always a plus!

 

Work Environment

• Professional, well equipped office
• Fast-paced, patient-facing setting
• Typically full-time, may include evenings

 

Optional (Nice-to-Have)

• Certification in dental administration
• Bilingual skills (especially Spanish in many U.S. offices)
