This full-year, itinerant school social work role offers the chance to make a significant difference in diverse educational settings while enjoying a dynamic workweek of 32.5 hours. Split your time between three days in one area and two days providing crucial services to students within specialized programs throughout the Wilkes Barre, Wyoming Valley, and Pittston communities.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Active Pennsylvania Social Work license (required)
• Pennsylvania Department of Education School Social Worker certification highly desired; candidates without it may be eligible for emergency certification for the first year
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to manage a mobile schedule, traveling between sites
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive practice

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services, including individual and group counseling
• Collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to develop and implement student support plans
• Address students’ mental health, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
• Facilitate referrals and connections to external resources
• Document services and maintain accurate case records in compliance with all regulations
• Participate in team meetings and develop effective intervention strategies
