We are searching for a result-oriented Credit and Collection Specialist to join our team at Vantage Elevation. About Us Vantage Elevation, LLC is North America's leading independent manufacturer of elevator components and systems. Vantage is comprised of eight business units including GAL Manufacturing; GAL Canada; Hollister-Whitney; Elevator Controls; Courion; Bore-Max; Thames Valley Controls and Vertical Dimensions. Through its brands, Vantage supplies almost all electro-mechanical devices used in contemporary elevators. The Vantage group employs over 900 staff in multiple locations across the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom. The Credit and Collection Specialist, with the assistance of various methods of communication, monitors and maintains assigned accounts. This position requires contacting customers, making recommendations for adjustments and write offs, reviewing orders for release and interacting with various departments within our company. The Credit and Collection Specialist must have a general understanding of the Merchandise Return process and the ability to work under very tight timelines. The goal of the process is maximizing company income and profit by minimizing delinquency and bad debt.
Requirements We are searching for a candidate with:
- High School Diploma required. Associate degree preferred
- 10+ years of collection experience required, preferably within the industry
- 3+ years of credit experience required, preferably within the industry
- Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
- Anytime Collect Software experience
- Knowledge of ERP systems, Visual 9 preferred
- Ability to make substantial number of customer contacts in a fast-paced environment
- Well organized and detail oriented with ability to multi-task
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional negotiating skills with ability to work well under pressure
- Strong analytical skills
Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Ensure prompt payment of assigned accounts through telephone, email and written communication
- Maintain accurate records of interaction or attempted interaction with customers
- Research and analyze billing/AR issues by interfacing with various departments within GAL
- Assists in the development of payment tactics and strategies for assigned accounts
- Establish extended payment plans when required
- Prepare reports highlighting anticipated write offs/income
- Recommend further action when all in-house collection options have been exhausted
- Resolve disputed items through research of all available information and communicate outcome.
- Ensure accurate contact and mailing information and if need be, share updates with New Accounts division
- Attend weekly meetings with A/R manager and provide account of progress
- Maintain a public record (i.e. desk calendar) of intended dates to review or contact delinquent customers (follow up)
- Inform A/R manager of difficult issues arising during the collection process
- Review and determine status of held orders
- Investigate, review and process RMA related credits
- Special assignments as needed.
