Housekeeping Assistant

Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable and hardworking Housekeeping Assistant to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform routine housekeeping duties.
• Empty trash and properly dispose of waste.
• Replenish housekeeping and resident-room supplies as needed.
• Follow infection prevention, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Work cooperatively with other departments to maintain a comfortable environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow cleaning, sanitation, and infection prevention procedures.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
