Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring WA or compact RN licensure and float availability across the region.

Details

• Med/Surg unit with 28 beds in an acute care hospital setting
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5
• General medical patient population including sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, and CHF
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule, 1800-0630, 12-hour shifts
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• No dedicated tele monitor techs on unit; tele monitoring done via centralized location and reachable through an app; ability to read strips preferred
• 1 CNA to 10-14 patients on the unit
• No charge nurse or house supervisor taking assignments
• RT equipment includes CPAP and established BiPAPs only
• Float requirement to other facilities within the region when not needed on home unit

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• 2+ years of related Med/Surg experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
• Required to titrate insulin and heparin drips
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit including drip titration and general medical case management
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Any professional colored scrubs permitted
• Floating required, with priority given to travelers, potentially to other facilities within the region
• Additional pay differential offered when floated to a non-primary facility within the region
