Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring WA or compact RN licensure and BLS certification. Details Acute care Med/Surg unit with 28 beds Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 General medical patient population including sepsis, COPD, bowel obstructions, and CHF CNA support at a ratio of 1 CNA to 10-14 patients No dedicated tele/monitor techs on unit; tele monitored remotely via centralized team, reachable through Ascom app RT equipment includes CPAP and established BiPAP devices Uses EPIC EMR Weekend and holiday coverage required Floating required, with priority given to the primary facility before floating to other Region I facilities (St. Anne Hospital - Burien, WA and Virginia Mason Medical Center - Seattle, WA) No charge nurse or house supervisor taking patient assignments Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required BLS certification required Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred 2+ years of related Med/Surg experience preferred Must be able to titrate insulin and heparin drips Ability to read telemetry strips preferred Copy of driver's license required for consideration Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Additional Information Provide direct patient care to general medical patients on a busy Med/Surg unit May be floated to other facilities within the region when not needed on the primary unit Unit and department-specific orientation provided Professional colored scrubs permitted First-time travelers may be considered for this role Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and Dignity Health, within the past year These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
