Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care in a medical-surgical unit, ensuring high standards of practice while floating among multiple facilities within the region as needed.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical/Surgical
• Number of Beds: 28
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• CNA Support: 1 CNA for every 10-14 patients

Required Certifications

• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification (preferred)

Patient Population

The RN will manage general medical patients, including those with:

• Sepsis
• COPD
• Bowel Obstructions
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN preferred
• 2+ years related work experience preferred
• Current state licensure

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitor patient conditions
• Administer medications and intravenous drips, including Insulin and Heparin as needed
• Utilize a centralized telemetry service for patient monitoring
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care

Shifts & Scheduling

• Shifts Available: Day shift (0600-1830)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Self-Scheduling: Not available, block scheduling utilized

Floating Requirements

Registered Nurses may be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed. Floating will be compensated with an additional hourly rate.

• Orientation provided specific to the unit/department
• Professional scrub colors are required
• Cancellation Policy: The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts in a 13-week assignment, and up to 3 shifts in shorter assignments
• Charting System: EPIC
