Clinical Audiologist
As a Clinical Audiologist, you will join us in providing high-quality care to patients in the southwest region. This position participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary clinic staff to independently provide diagnostic and rehabilitative audiological outpatient services to those with hearing and/or balance concerns. Additional duties include providing didactics lectures on audiology topics for general medical students and members of the Otolaryngology Residency program, involvement in research and data collection, and precepting for Audiology Doctoral Candidate externs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- The primary responsibility is to perform a wide range of audiological test procedures and make proper recommendations/referral for medical intervention/follow-up as needed
- This role works closely with physicians in the Department of Otolaryngology, as well as UNLV Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine and community physicians, by conducting tests that will help determine course of treatment, verify surgical outcomes, and provide critical support for hearing implants.
- Major responsibilities include performing audiometric evaluations on adults and children of all ages; otoacoustic emissions (OAE); Eustachian tube function testing; Videonystagmography (VNG); tinnitus/hyperacusis evaluations; candidacy assessments, counseling, and programming as appropriate for hearing aids, cochlear implants, and bone conduction systems
- Participate as a member of the Cochlear and Bone Conduction Implant multi-disciplinary team
- Other duties may include research, medical student education, and audiology extern precepting supervision, as well as detailed charting, administrative work, and patient education.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Master's Degree in Audiology (Clinical Doctorate of Audiology preferred)
At least two (2) years of practical experience in the area of audiology
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledgeable about hearing disorders and aural rehabilitation for patient of all ages, including appropriate medical follow-up, as needed
- Effective oral, written, and phone communication skills to work with other professionals and interact with and educate patients
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Must possess or be eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) within one (1) year of employment
- Must have or be eligible for appropriate Nevada state licensing for Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing within three (3) months of employment

- May include working with challenging patients and clients
- May include lifting up to 25 pounds
